Bonfire night has long been a tradition across the UK thanks to the history of Guy Fawkes.
Now, we often associate bonfire night as being a little more fun – with firework displays, hot dogs and sparklers lighting up the dark skies.

Whether you are looking for a family friendly event that promises to provide a quieter experience for the younger ones, or you’re after a much more immersive experience, we’ve put together this handy guide of all the bonfire events across the Yorkshire coast.
1. Filey Lions Bonfire – 5th November 2022
If you’re looking for a free to enter firework display and bonfire, Filey Lions Bonfire will take place at West Avenue Car Park on Saturday 5th November.
There will be stalls around the site which will be open from 5pm with the bonfire being lit at 6pm. Fireworks are expected to start around 7pm and end around 9pm.
As this is a free event, there will be a bucket collection on the gates so you can donate towards the Lions Club.

2. Driffield ‘Musical Movie Magic’ Spectacular – 5th November
If you’re looking for something different to your usual firework display, Driffield Showground’s Musical Movie Magic Spectacular will have a display choreographed to popular songs from musicals both old and new.
You have the option to sit in your vehicle and tune in to the entertainment through your car radio, or you can stroll round the grounds if you prefer to be in the thick of it.
On the night, there will be a food village so you can support local businesses and enjoy some of the treats on offer.

3. Scampston’s ‘Musical Movie Magic’ Spectacular – 4th November
Set in 70 acres, Scampston Hall is the perfect location for a huge firework spectacular. Taking it one step further than your standard firework display, Scampston’s Music Movie Magic’s display will be Pyromusical fireworks choreographed to popular musical songs.
You can watch the firework display from the comfort of your own car or walk around the grounds, whichever you prefer.
There’s an on-site food village so you can sample treats from local businesses.

4. Burniston & Cloughton Bonfire – 5th November
If you’re looking for a family friendly bonfire event, Burniston & Cloughton bonfire event is ideal and there’s also a range of refreshments to purchase before the event so you can make a night of it.
There will be hot dogs, burgers, toffee apples and homemade soup on offer to get you into the real spirit of bonfire night.
Donations to Active Burniston & Cloughton Playing Fields Project are requested during this event.

5. Ship Inn Charity Bonfire Night – 5th November
The Ship Inn charity bonfire night is in aid of Marie Curie and Ashleigh Ellerton’s Making Memories Wish List so you can really give back when attending this bonfire event in Sewerby.
The event will see live music and entertainment throughout the evening, as well as food stalls so you can relax and enjoy the event.
