If you’re visiting Whitby for the day, you might want to plan your day, which includes knowing where the public toilets are around the town, especially if you’re travelling with children.
The great thing about Whitby is that there are plenty of toilets within walking distance of the town centre, the beach and Whitby Abbey.
I tend to find the cleanest toilets are Marina Car Park toilets or the ones located in Abbey Headland car park, although both of these are chargeable.
New Quay Road, Whitby
Where New Quay Road meets Station Square on the roundabout, you will see the public toilets next to the Trenchers restaurant.
These toilets are open between 9am and 5pm all year round. Baby change facilities are available at New Quay Road toilets.

Broom House Lane, Egton Bridge
Broom House Lane toilets are open 24 hours a day and there is no charge to use them. There is both male and female toilets, so if you’re making a trip from Whitby, you can plan the route around a toilet stop.

Marina Car Park, Whitby
Located close to Whitby Marina and just a 5 minute walk from the town centre, Marina Car Park toilets are a large facility with plenty of toilet cubicles for both men and women.
These toilets are open all year round, but do close by 9pm. It should be noted that these toilets did used to be free, but they are no longer.

These public toilets are a little hidden away and you might not see them unless you knew they were there. As you drive through Castleton along the high street, the toilets are located on the corner, on the junction with Station Road.
There’s both male and female toilets at this location and the toilets are open 24 hours a day all year round.

If you’re visiting Whitby Beach, the closest public toilets are located just off North Terrace where the outdoor swimming pool is situated.
These toilets are open during the Summer only, between 10am and 6pm. There’s also baby change facilities located in these toilets.

Tucked away just off the main road close to the River Esk, there is a single block of toilets with a male and female toilet.
The toilets are open 24 hours a day, all year round.

If you’re heading out of Whitby to explore some of the beautiful villages close by, you might be passing through Aislaby on your route.
As you head down Main Road, you will see a layby just beyond the monument opposite the church. Here you will find a block of toilets, with both male and female toilets that are open all year round.

Located to the entrance of Whitby pier, the toilets located on pier road are convenient for those visiting Whitby beach or the arcades.
